The Micro-Perforated Concrete-Curing Blanket

HydrAdsorb™ offers a new and innovative technique to the Concrete Trade for a more efficient and cost effective means for wet-curing concrete.
The advantages of wet-curing are well recognized and widely acknowledged by specifying professionals, especially when compared with less efficient water based curing products. The American Concrete Institute's committee on curing has evidenced that insufficient slab moisture, resulting in premature dehydration of the pour, can result in reduced strength, cracking, dusting, discoloring, scaling, and crazing defects. HydrAdsorb™ provides the most effective means of preventing these problems at a surprisingly low overall cost to the contractor.

What is HydrAdsorb™?
HydrAdsorb™ consists of a seamless, high strength, non-woven polypropylene fabric with a micro-perforated extrusion coating of white pigmented polypropylene, modified with a UV additive for long term protection against sunlight degradation. The resulting product provides a highly effective means for uniform curing of concrete surfaces. By reflecting the sun's heat away from the covered surface, thereby retaining the moisture in the highly retentive saturated fabric side, HydrAdsorb™ allows for gradual, uniform and controlled curing of the surface for increased pour strength and hardness test values for bridges, highways, viaducts, spillways, building construction, and military installations, etc.

A Perforated Wet-Cure Cover?...Yes, and Here's Why!
HydrAdsorb™ is designed for use on projects specified for periodic re-wetting of the curing cover. HydrAdsorb™ is micro-perforated for continuous, maximum re-wetting of flat concrete surfaces, eliminating the labor intensive and time consuming task of removal and replacement of curing covers. By periodic ponding of the surface, moisture is uniformly and gradually replenished to the non-woven geotextile underside that remains continually saturated, thereby, retaining the high moisture content necessary for gradual curing and higher strength test values. Yes, when you think of it, micro-perforated HydrAdsorb™ makes a lot of sense for any projects calling for wet-cure covers; but especially for specifications requiring periodic re-wetting.

Compare HydrAdsorb...
with poly coated burlap curing blankets; HyrAdsorb™ has equivalent water adsorption weight per square foot yet is 50% lighter in dry roll weight. HydrAdsorb's™ non-woven polypropylene fabric is highly adsorbent, retaining a high volume of water within the mass of entangled fabric fibers.

HydrAdsorb™ is Reusable and That Saves You Money!
HydrAdsorb™ lays flat, hugging the poured slab for fast and easy coverage. After use, it dries without hardening and brittleness, allowing for rerolling, storage and reuse several times over. And since HydrAdsorb™ is an inorganic fabric, it won't mildew and rot as will natural jute fiber.

100% Polypropylene for 100% Compatibility
Unlike burlap and poly coated covers, HydrAdsorb™ consists of 100% polypropylene polyolefin materials. The thick polypropylene base material is a dense, non-woven fabric. The the 4 mil thick white polypropylene co-extruded coating layer bonds chemically and mechanically with the fibrous polypropylene base material, a definite advantage over mechanically combined polyethylene material. Unlike burlap, HydrAdsorb™ is non-organic so it won't mildew and rot and can be re-rolled and re-used over and over again.
